Lisa Pierotte, MA, is a Senior Research Associate at Choice Research Associates, where she has worked since November 2018 supporting nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and private-sector partners through applied research, program evaluation, and data systems development. Her work encompasses programs operating in reentry, housing, hospital-based violence intervention, legal support, and related human services, with an emphasis on strengthening organizational capacity for data-informed practice and accountability.

Lisa’s technical expertise centers on case management database configuration and process engineering, with a focus on aligning data systems with program operations and service delivery goals. She works collaboratively with program administrators and frontline staff to design referral workflows, intake and follow-up instruments, participant surveys, and performance metrics that facilitate the collection of high-quality, analytically meaningful data. Her approach prioritizes the development of systems that support both rigorous evaluation and day-to-day service provision, enabling practitioners to better understand participant needs, service utilization, and program outcomes while minimizing administrative burden.

She is an Apricot Systems Administrator–certified professional and has received additional training in Penelope and Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) case management platforms. In this capacity, Lisa supports the development of funder- and stakeholder-facing reports and dashboards, assisting organizations in translating complex program data into clear, actionable findings that inform continuous quality improvement and strategic decision-making.

A published scholar, Lisa’s research interests include victims’ rights and services, organizational contexts of practice, and methodological innovations in criminal justice research. Her technical and applied work is grounded in a strong research background and deep familiarity with service delivery environments developed through sustained collaboration with frontline service providers over many years. She is a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland, where her qualitative dissertation examines victim service providers and the ways institutional and organizational structures can either support or exacerbate providers’ exposure to vicarious trauma—a focus that reflects her ongoing commitment to understanding and supporting practitioners in challenging, trauma-exposed roles.

Lisa earned her Master’s Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2019 and is expected to complete her Ph.D. in 2026.
