Wendy Stickle, PhD, is a Principal Lecturer and the Program Director for the UMD Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice Undergraduate Program at the Universities at Shady Grove. She began working with Choice Research Associates in 2024 as a Research Consultant and the Co-Principal Investigator of the Fair Girls Prevention Education Curriculum Project. Dr. Stickle is a Criminologist, a project manager with 10+ years of diverse experience in project/program management and teaching at a college level, specializing in designing instructional materials on a variety of subjects, including research methods, human trafficking, communication, and leadership.

In addition to teaching a semester-long course on human trafficking and leading an annual study abroad program on the topic, Dr. Stickle is the Chair of the Montgomery County Human Trafficking Prevention Committee, conducts human trafficking awareness training across Maryland, and has presented on human trafficking at conferences in the U.S., Europe, and China. Dr. Stickle’s research activities include conducting quantitative and qualitative research examining federal sentencing outcomes in the U.S. and the forced migrant experience in Italy. Dr. Stickle is the first author on the first social-science perspective textbook on human trafficking, which is currently being used to educate students all over the U.S.    She was recently awarded an OVC Human Trafficking Fellowship and looks forward to working on the Fair Girls Curriculum Development and Evaluation with Choice Research Associates.
