Mary Poulin Carlton, Ph.D. is an independent research and evaluation consultant who began working with Choice Research Associates in 2023. For over 25 years, Dr. Carlton has been engaged in criminal and juvenile research and evaluation projects on a local, state, and national level. This has included a variety of projects in which she has designed and conducted research and evaluation of criminal and juvenile justice programs and practices as well as advised and provided technical assistance to advance further research and facilitate the use of research and evaluation information for policy and practice.
Most recently, Dr. Carlton worked as a social science analyst at the US Department of Justice, National Institute of Justice responsible for a research portfolio that included school safety, community violence and violence prevention, gangs, and human trafficking. Prior to that, she held research positions at the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency in Washington, DC, the Justice Research and Statistics Association (now the Justice Information Resource Network), and Temple University.
In 2005, Mary Poulin Carlton completed her doctorate in Criminal Justice at Temple University.
